I-ball Adventure Park is the latest attraction for visitors to Cambodia. The park is located 11 km north of Sihanoukville, just along route #4 towards Phnom Penh, two km past the turnoff to the Kbal-Chhay waterfall. Re-launching the park in early November 2009, the main attraction will be the i-ball run, known in other counties as Zorbing or Sphereing.
The park has two versions of this activity, the harness and the aqua i-ball. In the harness i-ball two people are harnessed into an inner ball and rolls down a 120-meters hill over a bridge and to its finish. The people will tumble head over heels down the hill within the ball and it is usually accompanied by screams and wild laughter from inside. The Aqua i-ball has no harness and two people get soaked before they dive in to prevent friction burns, 20 liters of water is thrown in and as they roll down they experience what it must be like inside a washing machine!
The Park is set in a very quiet and peaceful area with its own lakes and waterfall. There are two rock pools also so you can just spend a few hours with friends cooling down from the sun. Over one of the lakes a zip-line has been built so you can also cool down as you let go and dive into the lake. There is a safety harness for people who don’t want to get wet and they zip down to the finish on dry land. A sanded volleyball court just outside the restaurant is a big hit when friends get competitive. New to the park is the 5-a-side sanded football field and a mini-league competition is in the planning between the towns businesses. Also new will be an Archery range with Longbows and this is expected to be operational from early December 2009.
The park has its own restaurant and bar offering great breakfasts, snacks and refreshments. There are also two Bouclé courts to pass the afternoon away. The Park offers a full days entertainment away from the hassles of town, no beggars or hawkers for miles. All activities except the Archery are included in the $15 ticket price which can be bought from most places round town but can also be obtained at the Park. Customers can stay a short time or spend all day for the one price.
